As I was getting off the orange line, this man named Steven and I were running for the same train as me. He was from Rhode Island, and we talked about our love of literature and our different therapists and experiences with it. What a great way to connect. My roommate Thea pressed some Christian literature into my hand this morning, and we prayed over it. It was "What to do when..." angry, depressed, anxious...etc. It seemed perfect for him, so I gave him that and a gospel of John. I pray that he reads it. Jesus is truly the healer, and when we put our trust in Him, He heals us. All we gotta do is ask. One of my favorite scriptures is in
Chapter 7 of Matthew: Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking!
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Right after that, I noticed a young white guy sitting across from me, in his mid 20s, with skull tattoos all over his arm, and I kept feeling this urge to go over and pray for him. He was a really nice guy. I opened with telling him about Todd White, who goes to people and heals them. He didn't want prayer, but I asked him anyway. I just came right out and asked him if I could pray for him. I was surprised that he was so open to it. It turns out that his uncle is a pastor and a missionary, in the Philippines and somewhere else. Pretty cool. So he was used to people praying for him. I invited him to church.
Check out Todd White, who is so inspiring!
If it's true that the fields are ripe for the harvest, we must press in and reap the harvest!
Lord, please help me to share the entire gospel with people. Please give me grace and boldness in my words, In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
