You might be wondering, what does a typical evangelist's day look like in Boston?
Today I got some free coffee and a cookie at a bank opening on Boylston St. Yes, I was on my way to a Black Friday sale. When someone approached me to open up an account, I could have just as easily done one on-line, but the great thing about working for the Lord is that we have to seize every opportunity to share the love of Christ. One of my strengths http://www.strengthsfinder.com/home.aspx is WOO, which stands for Winning Others Over. There are no strangers in the Wooer's World. My friend today was a really really really nice Catholic boy, transplanted from Minnesota just two months ago. Naturally I invited him to my church, but he said he might check out one closer to where he lives. His name is Dan in case you feel so inclined to pray for him. I told him not to put off finding a church but to go quickly and read his Bible daily, as Boston can kind of chew people and spit them out. I didn't want to be too pushy, though I should have probably given him my contact info, I didn't want him to think I was hitting on him, though he was absolutely adorable.
Then when I came in to work, I connected with an older Eritrean woman named Azieb (if you wanna pray for her) from California. She was in LA but God kept closing all the doors, so she came to Boston. She's looking to work as a hairstylist, so I told her about UniteBoston. You can find the posting I made for her here if you are looking for a haircut. :) http://uniteboston.com/forums/topic.php?id=145 I prayed with her for 5 to 10 minutes and the tears of joy ran down her faith, she kept telling me, I love Jesus, I love Jesus. I can NOT tell you ENOUGH how much I love doing Jesus' work here on earth. How simple it is to bless our brothers and sisters, even the one's who have not yet joined our family!
Acts 11:23 When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.
Romans 1:12 that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
