Evangelism challenge: Today was a great morning, doing some yoga and meditating on the Lord. I was reading my Dr. Yonggi Cho book for almost the whole ride from Ashmont to Park St. There was a youngish white guy sitting next to me and for some reason I tried to ignore reaching out to him but the Holy Spirit wouldn’t let me rest until I spoke to him. Has anyone ever told you about Jesus Christ? Yes he said. Well what do you think? I asked him. He said he didn’t want to hear it and he didn’t believe. Of course I pressed in and said Well, Jesus loves you anyway. I said God is like our Father and we are His children. No matter what we do He loves us. No reaction. He created us divinely for a purpose to do something very special here on earth. He gave us unique skills and gifts that only you have. I asked him his name and he said Eric. I said, I’m Sung Yun and shook his hand and thought about just praying for him without asking but decided against it. I asked if I could pray for him and he said no thanks. You can pray near me he said. LOL. Haha I put my hand on his shoulder and prayed for my new friend Eric and prayed that God would reveal Himself to Eric and Eric would know his unconditional love. Then I thanked him for letting me pray with him and he said you’re welcome. Lol. I sat back and asked for some prophecy/words of wisdom for him and God told me he was a writer. “Are you a writer?” I asked him. “No,” he said. I thought for a minute and said “Maybe you should try writing down some of your stories. I feel like they could really help some people.” He was like, “I’ve lived a very boring life.” I laughed and said, “I doubt that.” I know that was really the Holy Spirit speaking through me because I knew NOTHING about this guy but that’s what God told me. The beautiful thing about Prophecy and Words of Wisdom is that God doesn’t see us for who we are in the moment, He sees us as HE created us to be!!!!
Rode on the B line and sang some songs to God, knowing that there was a young boy sitting directly behind me who could hear my singing. Down in the river to pray, Nothing but the blood of Jesus and ended with Jesus loves me since he was so young. I was prophesying to him and praying for him out loud because I knew he could hear me. THAT was pretty stealthy if I may so myself. When he got up to leave I looked at his mother and said Jesus loves you but was speaking to him. She said thank you but he didn’t even look at me.
Then I saw a German kid sitting at Kenmore and asked to share about Jesus with him. He said I have heard it but I don’t believe it. I said, “Well if God showed up to you right now would you believe in Him?” He said, “Yes, of course!” Then I said, “Well that’s great because it says in the Bible ‘Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened.’ (Matthew 7:7, definitely one of my favorite scriptures) If you ask Him to show up in your life He will come. If there is no such thing as God it won’t matter what I say but if there is a God and the Bible is the Word of God then Hell is real and you should find out for yourself if this is true and research it!” He didn’t seem that convinced but I was glad that at least this German student could come across the Atlantic and hear a smidgen of the Gospel. I’m praying that others will come and water the seed that I planted. It could even be YOU! ;)
I saw a Chinese woman wearing a diamond cross. I moved across the aisle and sat next to her. Are you a Christian? I asked because apparently the cross is a fashion statement sometimes rather than a faith statement. Heck, when I was a New Age Buddhist I took to wearing my sister’s ex-boyfriend’s Celtic cross all the time. I loved that thing. Maybe Jesus was calling me even then. “What church do you go to?” “Cathedral, in South Boston.” “I’ve never been.” “It’s beautiful and Gothic and very big,” she said. “I only go once a month” because she was busy with her children’s activities on Sundays. She wanted “balance” in her life. I encouraged her to read the Bible with her children which she didn’t seem so keen on. Well, at least she’s going to church? I encouraged her to visit the church at Brookline High School at 10:30. They feed you too! I prayed with Elizabeth for her family and I pray that she gets a deeper revelation of who Jesus is.
Cute Russian tennis player came in and I told him that Jesus loves him. I just can’t get over how three very simple yet meaningful words can reduce grown men to giggles and smiles. It makes me so happy to see that. EVERYONE needs to feel loved. :D
